Students began by painting paper with 3 different blues. After they dried I cut them into strips one wide. The next week students began by cuting out a white circle moon and then began to make a radial design using white paper and glue stick. They made two rows of white, then two rows of light blue, two rows or medium blue and finally dark blue row to finish off the page. Some students made one row of dark blue, others made three. The begining white row rectangles are smaller than the rest to ensure it curves nicely around the circle. When the mosaic is finished students cut out a tree and foreground using black paper. The mosiac was to create a value scale. This project took three days and had several steps; I listed the steps on the board to help with any confusion.
